MULTIPLYING DECIMALS
We have practiced multiplying whole numbers and now we are ready to put a decimal point in the problem. Lucky for us it doesn't change how you work the problem. Check out the following pictures and follow the steps to learn how to multiply decimals. Pay very close attention to the hints because they make the process much easier.

DECIMALS
This we week will be working with decimals. Yesterday we began things with a visit from some local bankers as they introduced the students to checking accounts and savings accounts. They worked with a checking register and did a few balance calculations.
We will continue working with decimals today and see how well everyone has got it before we move on to multiplication and division.
Yesterday after the presentations students were given a homework assignement to do ONLY the top 5 rows of problems (10 problems). Bonus points will be given for extra completion.

MULTIPLYING WHOLE NUMBERS
Don't get confused we are going to continue working with decimals but before we can move on I need to make sure we can add, subtract, multiply, and divide whole numbers. Today in class we are going to be multiplying multi-digit numbers by a single digit and then move on to multiply multi-digit numbers by multi-digit numbers.
