TEST IS FRIDAY!!!!!

The test is Friday and I am worried that we may not have a great understanding of the units and what they represent. So today that's what we are working on. There will be 5 questions on the test that are asking for the unit to best describe something. So to practice this the assignment for today is....

Also today in class we are going to make sure we can convert units that require more than 1 step. The following will be answered in class today...

• How many yards are ina mile?
• How many inches are in a yard?
• How many cups are in a gallon?
• How many ounces are in a quart?
• How many ounces are in a ton?

{2 of these will be needed on Friday's Test}

Today in class all time will be dedicated to reviewing our unit conversions, both metric and customary. Here is a copy of the worksheet that will be given in class for completion along with 6 bonus problems.

Also everyone will be given an EXTRA CREDIT assignment also about converting measurements.

I HAVE WHO HAS?

Today in class we reviewed converting customary units with the game "I Have Who Has?" It was interesting. Most everyone has begun to use the "Goal Post" method to solve these problems. If you need a refresher you can read yesterdays posts.

Tonight for homework - As an attempt to wrap up customary units, I need you to write a recipe card about the following problem.

A can of green beans weighs 13 ounces. How many pounds does a case of 24 cans weigh?
