TUESDAY

We will not be covering anything new today in class. We will begin our review process for the 6-Week Exam. The test again is Thursday and practice problems have been given to all students. Tonight they will complete the study packet. The test is 2 or 3 problems from each topic we have covered up to this point in the year. It is all multiple choice. Please Please study and be prepared for Thursday.

9/26/11 HOMEWORK

As we are gearing up for the 6 week test I have given a review packet. The last 4 problems were completed and checked in class. For homework complete the following problems.

1, 3, 5, 7, 9, 11, 13, 15, 17, 19, 21, 23, 25, 27, 29, 31, 33, 36, 38, 40

Today we are going to take a break from finding common denominators and equivalent fractions so we can work on adding and subtracting fractions and mixed numbers with like denominators.

*if you need to you can change mixed number into improper fractions before you add or subtract. Just remember to change your answer back into a mixed number*

*if the denominators are the same you can add or subtract as the problem is written*

*if you have a whole number you will have to change it into a mixed number. Subtract 1 from the whole number and then create your fraction so it has the same denominator as the other fraction in the problem. Remember that a whole has the same numerator and denominator*

Please Please Please remember to review for the test on Thursday, its a REALLY BIG deal. Also keep in mind that you need to make a C or better, if not you will be required to attend after school tutoring. The test will have 35 or 40 questions and will be all multiple choice.

Nothing new today in class. We are going to be reviewing how to COMPARE & ORDER FRACTIONS. The homework assignment is to make sure the worksheet and Page 200 31-40 are complete for Monday. If students want to complete the remainder of the worksheet bonus points will be given.
