Yep, kiddos are coloring today but it's no ordinary coloring sheet. Students are using this coloring worksheet from www.teach-nology.com to help them practice long division. Students are working many division problems and then following the instructions that match their answer to know what color to use on the sheet.

LONG DIVISION PRACTICE 2-2-2

Today students will be working 6 long division problems using a strategy I just came up with (I think)

• The first 2 problems will be worked with their elbow partner. ROW 1 PROBLEMS 1 & 2
• The next 2 will be worked on their own but will be checked by a classmate other than their elbow partner (must get students name) ROW 2 PROBLEMS 1 & 2
• The last 2 will be worked 100% on their own for a grade and turned in before class is over ROW 3 PROBLEMS 1 & 2
• For the students who are struggling or still need practice they will complete problem #3 from rows 1, 2, and 3 for homework

MULTIPLICATION THREE-IN-A-ROW

Practicing whole number multiplication with multi-digit numbers. To make practicing more fun students were given a game board, candy to use for markers and a dry erase board to work their problems. Nothing boring about this.

WELCOME BACK, WE ARE MULTIPLYING!!!

HERE WE ARE FOR ANOTHER NEW SCHOOL YEAR!

Students have pretested over whole numbers and did a fabulous job! We are going to work on multiplying multi-digit whole numbers for a couple of days to make sure we all have a great understanding of the standard algorithm. Below is our TARGET, we will have this one for a few days. Sorry it is crooked, technology is wonderful when it works :)
