MULTIPLICATION FACT PRACTICE
Today we are practicing the multiplication facts. Students were given a quick assessment to determine their level of mastery of the multiplication facts. This was only for personal use. After, all students were given a fact test. I allowed 5 minutes to complete the test. Students were told to leave problems blank if they had to use their fingers, had to guess an answer, or had to spend too much time figuring out an answer. This would give us a better understanding of their mastery. Finally we all made a set of flashcards to study.
MULTIPLICATION GROUP ACTIVITY
Each group was given 3 problems. Each problem had 3 steps to get to the final answer. When the problem has been worked by all 3 members they got to check the answer that was located under their desks. If the problem was correct, AWESOME! If they were incorrect they had to go back and find the error and help their teammates figure out where they went wrong.
